Khama Worthy: Mixed Martial Arts, Little Ninjas, Ladies Only Fitness

Khama Worthy is the owner and head MMA instructor at the Academy. He is a lifelong martial artist and has been seriously training in mixed martial arts for the past 11 years. He was an amateur national champion and has over 15 professional MMA fights. He has competed in pro boxing matches and has fought overseas in China’s pro shoot-boxing. He is a firm believer that martial arts is a lifestyle and that you never stop learning.

Dann Cucuta: Muay Thai Kickboxing, Little Ninjas

*Began training in Taekwondo in 1991 while living in Brooklyn, NY and continued Taekwondo after moving to Atlanta, GA.

*Began training in American kickboxing from 1995-1999.

*Became an assistant instructor and began amateur kickboxing competition in 1997 and became WKA and USKA Super Middleweight amateur champion.

*Began amateur boxing after moving to Pittsburgh from 1999-2008.

*1999 PAL National Championship boxing competitor and 2001 WPPAL boxing tournament open runner up.

*Began training in MMA, BJJ and continued kickboxing training in 2009.

*Began Muay Thai training with Pittsburgh Muay Thai in 2010.

*2014 Gladiators Of The Cage amateur middleweight champion.

*Active professional fighter (Boxing, Muay Thai and MMA).

*Teaches classes focused on proper technical training. There’s a major focus on technique. Classes include warmup, Muay Thai striking and clinching drills as well as strength and conditioning.

Justin Patton: Mixed Martial Arts, Ladies Only Fitness

Justin competed in wrestling from the ages of 7 to 15 and started training in MMA at the age of 19. He is currently an established purple belt in BJJ and a veteran of 7 amateur boxing bouts and 6 mma fights. Justin’s diverse experience in martial arts and extensive coaching credentials with all ages, skill, and fitness levels gives his coaching a unique flavor.

Chris Deep: Boxing

Coach Deep is a professional and amateur boxing coach with more than 10 years of experience coaching. He has trained kids as young as 7 years old to current professional boxers. He tailors his coaching style to fit the goals and needs of each fighting style as well as the needs and skill levels of his students. As an amateur boxer, chris won 2 western Pennsylvania Golden Glove titles and was a state runner-up in 2003. He has trained several local and regional amateur boxing champions.

Marshal Carper: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Marshal is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has devoted much of his life to spreading and supporting jiu-jitsu. He is the author of The Cauliflower Chronicles, a travel memoir about living in Hilo, HI to train with BJ Penn, and in addition to writing half a dozen other jiu-jitsu books he is also the co-author of BJ Penn’s Open Guard, Marcelo Garcia’s Advanced Jiu-Jitsu, and Neil Melanson’s (Randy Couture’s longtime grappling coach) Mastering Triangle Chokes. Marshal is a dedicated student of not only the art but also to teaching the art to anyone regardless of their skill level, body type, or learning style.

Sylvester Terkay: Wrestling

Coach Terkay was a 3 time All American wrestler at NC State and the 1993 NCAA Division 1 heavyweight champion. Following his amateur career, Coach Terkay spent many months as a training partner for multiple Olympic medalist and Olympic Gold Medalist Bruce Baumgartner.He then made the rare transition and took his considerable talents to Japan’s superdome to fight in the prestigious K1 World Grand Prix Tournament becoming a stand up only K1 fighter. He has fought many of the world’s best strikers including the then reigning 2 time K1 Grand Prix champion Rene Bonjasky in his first stand up fight.
